Today our baseball players played a friendly game, after which nine players of the team were awarded the “Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus” certificate after the results of the previous two seasons (1 place in the championship of Belarus). Igor Shloydo, chairman of Minsk FC, took part in the ceremony.
The head coach of the team Alexander Sechko commented on the awarding of the guys and told about the team:
“Many of these titles were previously, and today at the end of the previous two years, in which we became the champions of the country, the certificate of the master of sports received Platon Pozharitsky, Jan Popruch, Artyom Tolkach, Anton Mozhar, Arseniy Obukhovich, Ivan Kurlenya, Ilya Babiychuk, Evgeny Kurgun, Ilya Sladinsky. Most of them are pupils of our academy.
In addition, the team played in European competitions and is among the top 20 in Europe. Last year, in addition to the Belarusian championship, we won the Polish Cup, the Lithuanian Open Championship and Interliga with the participation of teams from Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Belarus. And we play mainly with our players, who come from the minsk training groups. Now we are preparing for the new season of the Belarusian championship and we are waiting for its start.”
